Responsibilities of the Secretary General

  • The Secretary General is the main credit release authority of the Chamber of Deputies and has the competences and responsibilities established by law for such power.
  • The Secretary General fulfils the functions established by normative acts, by decisions of the Chamber of Deputies or by decisions of the Standing Bureau.
  • The Secretary General approves or rejects, as the case may be, the documents submitted to him for approval by the departments or employees of the Chamber of Deputies.
  • The documents prepared by the departments of the Services of the Chamber of Deputies, which are to be submitted for approval to the Chamber of Deputies or to the Standing Bureau, shall be priory approved by the Secretary General.

  • 1975 - 1977 associated assistant with the Faculty of Cybernetics, speciality: computer programming
  • 1979 - 1989 scientific director of the Management and Computers Science Centre within the State Planning Committee
  • 1980 - 1985 he delivered training courses in the use of the planning data bank for various ministries (Ministry of National Defence, Ministry of Machine Building Industry, Central Statistics Division, etc.)
  • 1985 - 1989 providing the implementations of relation database systems into companies in the fields of chemistry and petrochemistry (all petrochemical plants in Romania)
  • 1989 - 1991 director in the Ministry of National Economy and the Ministry of Industry and Resources
  • 1991 - 1992 director of department of material resources and raw materials supply within the Ministry of Economy and Finance
  • 1992 adviser of the president of the State Property Fund
  • 1992 - 1996 assistant secretary general of the Government, in charge of economic issues
  • 1993 - 1995 member of the Interministerial Commission issuing opinions on laws concerning the capital market (former Transferable Securities Commission within the Ministry of Finance)
