The 57th Annual Session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly (NATO PA) will be held at the Romanian Parliament between the 7th and 10th of October. The event in Bucharest will be attended by more than 350 parliamentarians from the 28 NATO member countries, from North America and Europe, as well as delegates from associate countries, regional partner countries, Mediterranean associate countries and observer countries, in order to discuss international security matters of common interest, to adopt the reports drafted by the specialized committees and to issue recommendations. The annual sessions of the NATO PA are the most important events in the organization's activity and they are hosted, by rotation, by the member states and associate countries.

Mr Loic Bouvard, Chairman of the French delegation, declares:
Regarding Mr Jean-Michel Boucheron's intervention about the anti missile system during the NATO PA defence committee meeting, Saturday 8th October, this intervention reflects only Mr Boucheron's own opinion. It does not engage the French delegation position, neither the orientation of the defence and the foreign policies of France, which are decided by Mr Nicolas Sarkozy, President of the Republic.
